I’m a part-time paramedic and a full-time stay-at-home dad to two young boys. Our oldest son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder when he was 18 months old. During our journey to support his development, we discovered the incredible benefits of getting outdoors with our kids. Weekly adventures in nature helped Mason—and our entire family—find calm and happiness. Outdoors, our boys can develop their imagination and grow their physical skills while getting to explore nature.
Two years ago, we discovered the van life community and we were drawn to the freedom and convenience it offers. The idea of having the comforts of home while being able to venture off-road and off-grid felt like the perfect way to take our family adventures to the next level. In August, we purchased our STO and it has been an incredible addition to our family.
In just a few months of ownership, we’ve started to go on some fun local adventures with our boys. With the new year and spring weather coming soon, we set a goal to camp in 12 states over 12 months with our STO. We’re all so excited to start to take our van on longer adventures, and with the power capability of the STO we feel confident that we won’t run into issues with lack of power that we were worried about with other vans that we looked at.
