Sam previously practiced in the Corporate & Tax group of Burr & Forman LLP, where he represented private and public companies — particularly in the areas of business formation and reorganization, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and commercial contracting and disputes. Sam spent over a year in a secondment position with the legal department of Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., and he focused much of his practice in the automotive industry. Sam was listed in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America: Mergers and Acquisitions Law (2022).

Sam graduated with honors from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and a Senior Editor of the Alabama Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Sam worked as an analyst for the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Alabama with degrees in Economics and History.
